About the Kin Race Track
Horse racing began on the current site of Kin Race track in the late 1800’s. At the time it consisted of a group of local farmers gathering to race in one of the fields. The Vernon Jockey Club was incorporated in 1893 for the purpose of holding professional horse races and organized racing has been held on the same site ever since.
